Now that you’re lowered into the cockpit, your paddle shaft will never hit your knees again. The keel in the stern is shaped like a skeg, tracking the boat straightforward. When it’s time to turn, you simply drop a knee and pivot off your secondary stability, instead of using only your shoulders to muscle yourself around.
