Just Bought a Swell Kayak. Now What??

You’ve just pulled the trigger @swellwatercraft.com on a brand-spanking new kayak.  Here’s what to expect.

Please be patient.  You’ve ordered a virtually indestructible, cutting-edge kayak from a small, family-owned manufacturer that takes time and care to make your boat exactly the way you ordered it.  Regardless of status at the website, it will take us a few days to get your personal watercraft out of our Iowa factory.  Our promise to you is that if we can’t get your kayak ready to ship within 2 weeks of your order, we will contact you via email to let you know.

We don’t crank out your order.  We’re a team of 5 paddlers dedicated to consistently building the best products we can possibly make.  We’re proud of the skills and processes we have developed that make our kayaks so great.  Our experience has taught us that if orders get stacked up, we don’t speed up.  We move consistently thru our checkpoints and procedures normally, which is why your boat shows up on your doorstep perfect.

We cater to the customer’s needs. We complete orders one at a time as we receive them.  But…you’re humans with different plans, reasons and motivations.  Gotta race at a certain date?  Let us know-we may be able to help.  Need this delivered to your Summer cabin?  We may be able to do that.  Do you want custom modifications added to your boat?  Do you want a 1-of-a kind color?  We don’t have every color, but we’re game to make you something unique.

We contract with trucking companies to deliver to your house.  Your local terminal will call you in order to schedule your delivery ahead of time.  Once your kayak is ready, we’ll place it in foam packaging inside of a long, strong cardboard box.  Depending on where you live in U.S., delivery will take approximately 2-6 business days from when it gets picked up at our factory in Iowa.  If you have trouble being at home during the week, consider getting the boat dropped off at your place of business.  Alternatively, have a friend or neighbor meet the driver, or ask the trucking dispatcher to leave the boat in your driveway.

Contact us whenever for whatever.  It’s normal to have questions or concerns with such a large purchase.  Once your boat has been delivered, we’re still here ready to answer any questions, comments, advice, or replacement parts you might need.  The aspect we love the most about working here is being able to enhance your entire paddling experience.  That’s why we do what we do.  Even though you can’t see them, our customer service personnel are standing by for your questions right now.
